Rules of thumb

Same-day shipping: 30 min to 2 h.
Next-day or made-to-order: 2 to 12 h.
Most address and size fixes happen in the first hour.
Always hold fulfillment during the window so the 3PL can’t pick early. See fulfillment holds explained.

How long should a Shopify order edit window be?

Usually 30 minutes to 2 hours for same-day shipping, up to 12 hours for next-day or made-to-order.

Does an edit window delay shipping?

Only by the window length, and only if it overlaps your pick time.
